Temporary Protected Status for El Savadorans ExtendedJan 6, 2005 The Temporary Protected Status for nationals of El Salvador has been extended for 18 months. In order to qualify for the extended status, Salvadorans must re-register during a 60 day re-registration period, beginning January 7, 2005, and ending March 8, 2005. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security announced that it would also grant an automatic six-month extension to September 9, 2005 on work authorization cards (EAD or Employment Authorization Document) to allow sufficient time for the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to process the paperwork involved with the TPS extension. |
