State Department's March 2009 Visa BulletinFeb 11, 2009 The U.S. Department of State’s visa bulletin for March 2009 showed modest advancement in most of its categories. The said advancement ranges from a few days to a few months. For family based applications 1st preference, all chargeability areas including China and India have moved by 14 days and is now processing priority dates of July 22, 2002. Mexico and Philippines remain at October 08, 1992 and July 15, 1993 respectively. All other preference categories have moved by about a month. For employment based applications, the 2nd preference category for advanced degree holders from Chinese have moved from 01/01/2005 to 02/15/2005, and Indian nationals moved from 01/01/2004 to 02/15/2004. Third preference category (skilled workers and professionals) for Mexican nationals had the most movement this month, from 04/01/2003 to 08/15/2003, while its counterparts from China moved only by a few days from 10/01/2002 to 10/22/2002. The visa bulletin is published monthly by the U.S. State Department and summarizes the availability of immigrant numbers. |
